Once the bride, now again the bridesmaid

I think I'm still behind in posting images of my own wedding invitations (bad designer!) and I promise they're coming, but in the meantime I just finished labeling and stamping my sister's save the dates and couldn't wait to get them into the public eye.

She and her fiancé Jason LOVE their dogs–so much so that the save the date introduces them as the bride and groom with the fun line "it's not just puppy love". I'm going to say now that there wasn't MUCH puppy love doing the photoshoot with those poor dogs, but I think they now understand the pressure of having to fit into a wedding dress.

We went with an oversized 9" x 12" invitation and rolled it into mailing tubes for ultimate splash when received. The Barbie pink color palette will continue into future wedding items from invitation to bridesmaid dresses. I can't wait.

The ricotta made me do it

Saturday, I decided to give a nod to my (married-into) Italian roots and make cannolis for a dinner with friends. With a HANDMADE ricotta recipe*. It was like the most incredible science experiment-meets-cooking show in our house yesterday afternoon, and the cannolis turned out so perfectly that they inspired THIS bit of handmadeness on an otherwise lazy Sunday afternoon.

Not the normal optimism at the otherwise confident (though odd) Hamlin's Pharmacy this Monday afternoon. There's a prescription to help that, just sayin'.

Lassie, come home

KLP Designs moves AGAIN for the third and final time in a year. And while one could ask if I'm really picky about office space or whether I enjoy having life in varying degrees of chaos, I'm going to plead the fifth. Especially if the question relates to the new pajama-friendly business environment of my newest office space.

I realize my blogging has been pretty lackluster over the last month, but I finally feel like I'm back in the creative swing of things so hopefully will be posting more regularly. Something...happy

 I haven't had a chance to photograph all the invitation components yet from our wedding, but I loved this little montage that Jenny put together of the wedding bits. The mason jars Staci and I painted made me giddy to see all decked out, and scouting the perfect nature trail was a total success when paired with Jenny's amazing eye.
