So I'm on my way to the bi-yearly Furniture Market in High Point. And this time around, not only do I have my new gallery theme to install, but also my little cotton babies to watch over... I was told that they'd starve if left back home in Raleigh.

TGIF at 6pm
I got home from a long workday to this great surprise: Good luck half marathon flowers from Mike. He even arranged them himself...
I love the lighting hits them, and how natural but perfect the grouping looks. Another reason that homemade bouquets are better than florists.

The Cotton Club comes to Raleigh
Craft Day Part Deux introduced the first ever Cotton Challenge to P as in Peter.
The Goal: To grow our own cotton for use in wedding centerpiece bouquets.
The Challenge: Staci and I each started with a packet of seeds and the same growing equipment. Every Friday we will document the status of our seedlings turn plants. The one who grows the cotton best wins.
The Incentive: Obvious bragging rights come September 24.
I'm also including a few inspiration images of how beautiful the the end potential can be. I love the glamorous and yet simple feel of these cotton arrangements.

Saturday Craft Day
I am so lucky to not only have a friend in Raleigh who loves crafting as much as me--but a wedding planner as well. Staci and I decided to take full advantage of a beautiful Saturday afternoon and a newfound stash of mason jars --and some good rosé--to work on a southern take on centerpiece vases for my upcoming wedding. We loved the combination of the various pink shades and the addition of silver accents for a new twist on these cool, old-fashioned jars.

The miniature wine party lives on
I know I shouldn't really be this excited about having a night off away (ha ha, just kidding) from Mike, but those who have known me for years know that there's nothing (embarrassingly) that makes me happier than wine, cheese, bread and either watching bad television or playing around on my computer, or both. I mean, I sculpted a miniature ottoman to represent this scene for goodness sake (see below).
And so tonight, when Mike is watching Duke Lacrosse (play lacrosse, not allegedly attack anyone) I am spending a little quality time with my charcuterie. Bon appetit to me.
