This article raises so many questions in my brain

Like, is it liquid-filled, or is it Cheerwine flavored whipped cream?

Do the donuts simultaneously curb your craving AND hydrate you?

A shout-out to (once) hyperactive siblings and obscure movie references

Nicole, this one's for you.

Wilmington: the world's most cupcake-friendly city ever

Screw the Magnolia obsession in New York... this city got down and dirty and hand-stitched a cupcake onto a construction fence to proclaim its feelings.

Getting my brain off summer vacation and on topic

After having such a fun time putting together a small photo exhibit at my furniture showroom during the High Point Market last April, I am getting really pumped about cultivating another photo grouping for the October Market.

As I don't envision another trip to Paris between now and fall, I think I'm going to use my upcoming vacation in Montauk as the backdrop this time.

I started my photo mood board with this shot...

TGIHFW2011

Duh, that's Thank Goodness It's Hoofs For Winter 2011.

Hot off a webinar of 2011 Pantone trends and the emotions that they engender, I spot something that looks vaguely familiar... I know where that trend comes from!

The perfect summer accessory

Just got to looking at my June Anthropologie catalog and fell instantly in love with these wire outdoor chairs.

Now if only the model would have scooted about 3 feet to the right so I could check out the green one...

My Gail Simmons moment

Recently, I was in NYC for the Stationery Show, where my friend Emily and I were busy scouting out the cutest, sweetest things in world of paper goods.

It was no wonder, then, that this sweet-scouting parlayed into our downtime in the form of a Cupcake-Off. The two contenders: Sugar Sweet Sunshine and Billy's Bakery.

Once we all dissected the icing-to-cake ratio & cake-moistness levels as compared to sweetness, we had a hands-down winner, and Billy's had to pack his knives and go.

Kevin Costner may not agree

But instead of baseball fields, THIS is my idea of heaven. 125 wedding programs, all complete and ready to go.

And as a nod to my childhood when my parents would use television show lengths to convince my (hyperactive) little sister that the car ride wouldn't really be THAT long (even though it secretly was), this project only took 3 and a half 90210's to complete.

I'm suddenly in the mood to spend a lot of money

Wait, I'm not at Barney's Co-Op? Well, in my imagination I'm totally there...

3 is a collection... $3 is a steal

I so wanted to introduce him to some long-lost brothers at home... but I withheld.

For now.

Lobster Girl, 2.0

I've been cleaning off my 1st Gen iPhone in preparation for my long-awaited FedEx package of "Dreams Come True" and came across one of my many antique-shopping-regrets, this one in Brooklyn.

Sigh.

I'm a Gemini, but I might love these signs more

My trip to Greensboro today reminded me of how much I love old buildings and the typography associated with them.

My heart (and my lobster) was left in Paris

So, I'm $75 richer (and per my parents, smarter) for having left Lobster Girl for someone else at the Paris Flea Market, but even now–4 months later–I still get a little sad about not having bought her.

My friend Jenny would have approved of the purchase.

I suppose this is a mark of success

Last night as I was going to bed I noticed this bump on my wrist, presumably from dragging it across the desk as I moused my way through my website redesign.

All I can figure is that it's the 21st Century version of that really gross bump I had on my middle finger all the way through grade school.

For the love of Onesies, An Update

It seems as though all the creative pre-baby-fashion-planning has paid off, as Call makes his first editorial photo debut in one of our signature looks.

It seems as though I have a thing for birds

I was playing around with my friend's camera the other day, taking photos of real work for my portfolio, when I started getting obsessed with the short-focus capabilities of the camera and started going hog-wild in my apartment: "EVERYTHING looks better with a short-focus lens!"

And now as I'm going through iPhoto, I see that there is definitely a collection of birds inhabiting my little piece of atmosphere.

Here's to summer in the south

And my very first coozie design. I feel very southern right about now.
